Motivation Basically, they help disabled people in poor countries get mobile. There's over 2 million people in countries like Sri Lanka who desperately need wheelchairs and another half billion who suffer from other disabilities. So check them out, and if you feel the urge give your credit card a work out. You could make a massive difference to someone's life and feel pretty good about yourself, too. I heard about this from Rebecca who just took up the Skype Nomad challenge to travel non-stop around the globe - and Motivation was her chosen charity.

The following two organisations are ones that I would suggest - if you want suggestions. Further down the page I link to some sites that will help you browse across a larger number of charitable organisations to support:
- Students Partnerships Worldwide (SPW) This is a great organisation that exemplifies many of the attributes, aims and qualities that support us in our global sustainable development journey. SPW is an international development charity that recruits and trains young adults (aged 18-28) as volunteer peer educators, to lead programmes that address urgent health and environmental issues in Africa and Asia. In this way it builds capacities both in a tier of young leaders, and in the wider communities they support. It is predominantly in-country based, but it does provide for some outside students to join in the programme which not only builds their leadership, but serves to support the formation of better international and cross-cultural networks. http://www.spw.org/
- Fred Hollows Foundation People need to have their health to live sustainably (socially, economically and environmentally). This organisation tackles the issue of health head-on and directly. Fred Hollows established the foundation to restore sight to people in poor countries who had been blinded by cataracts. In a relatively minor surgical procedure, the foundation implants an artificial lens to restore a patient's sight. The operation in poorer countries costs about $25. The Foundation has helped to restore sight to 1,000,000 cataract-blind people around the world. http://www.hollows.org/content/FrontPage.aspx?s=3
